Nicholas is a very experienced craftworker, drawing on Native American and Siberian craft techniques.

He has made drums, rattles, feather fans and other items for over 30 years, and is well known for his colourful, Native American style peyote (gourd) stitch beadwork. His objects have been used by people in their shamanic or medicine practice all over the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, and his work has been commissioned by several members of the Native American Church for use in peyote ceremonies.

Over the years he has been fortunate to be able to closely examine original craftwork held in public and private collections, and has learnt many of the traditional methods of construction.

Nicholas now rarely takes commisions for craftwork, as his own shamanic work and the work of running Sacred Hoop Magazine takes up too much time. However please feel free to contact him if you wish to commission something as he does do work for people from time to time

Over the years Nick has writen many articles about different aspects of sacred object craftwork, as well as a number of books on the subject. Please see the Writing Page for details of these and for many free .pdf downloads of articles.
